Approximately one week before the beginning of a new wear period you will receive a new shipment.

Return the used dosemeters, together with their corresponding controls for the same wear period, in the LANDAUER return envelopes.

Please keep all the grey Luxel+ dosemeter holders. They should be re-used for your new dosemeters.

See the non-returned badges on LISN, our interactive service network. With this function, you can view dosemeters from your account that have not been received at LANDAUER EUROPE.

If a dosemeter is not used for any reason, do not remove it from the cellophane wrappers, otherwise it will be analysed. Any dosemeter received back at LANDAUER EUROPE still in its cellophane wrapper will be reported as unused.

Note that it is illegal to send radioactively or biologically contaminated material through the post.

If you suspect your dosemeters may be contaminated you should consult your RPA or safety officer to decontaminate them. In the case of radioactively contaminated dosemeters please advise us that the dosemeters were contaminated.

If during a wear period, one of your employees has or supposes to have undergone a significant radiation, it is necessary to proceed immediately to an emergency return of his dosemeter.

The irradiated dosemeter must be sent separately, if possible with an appropriate control. It should not be returned with other dosemeters.

Emergency processing

All dosemeters and holders remain the property of LANDAUER EUROPE. A dosemeter (including a control dosemeter) is considered lost if it is not returned within 60 days after the end wear date. There is a replacement fee for each dosemeter not returned.

If a dosemeter issued to a classified person becomes lost or damaged, an investigation to estimate the actual dose received during the monitoring period is required. The results of the assessment, together with an estimated dose should be sent to LANDAUER EUROPE.
The estimation will be recorded as a special entry in the dose record. Dose records for classified persons must be complete.
